Terminals

Houston Airports says all five terminals at IAH (A, B, C, D and E) are connected by an above-ground automated people-mover, the Skyway, and an underground train, the Subway.[1]

The Skyway runs inside security and departs every two minutes from the stations in Terminals A, C and D/E. It is free, and the airport gives the total travel time from the Terminal A station to the Terminal D/E station as 4 minutes, 15 seconds.[1]

The Subway runs outside security (before the checkpoints) and departs every three minutes from the stations in Terminals A, C, D/E and the Airport Marriott. It is free and runs from 3:15 a.m. to 12:15 a.m., and is closed between 12:15 a.m. and 3:15 a.m.[1]

Terminal B notice on the airport's alerts page on 5 October 2026: United Airlines closed the Terminal B Ticketing Lobby from 21 January 2025 and it is due to stay closed until late 2026. During that time all Terminal B passengers check in, drop bags and clear TSA screening at Terminal C, then take the Skyway from Terminal C to Terminal B. Check the airport's alerts page for the current position.[2]

Getting into Houston

METRO route 500 IAH Downtown Direct runs between Bush Airport and the George R. Brown Convention Center in downtown Houston. The airport lists the fare as $4.50 one way, with buses seven days a week from 5:30 a.m. to 8 p.m., departing every 30 minutes. It departs from Terminal E, Level 2, Door E201, near Ride App Pick-Up.[3]

METRO route 102 Bush IAH Express serves the airport from Terminal C. The airport's bus page lists a fare of $1.25 (cash only; the driver does not make change) and a transit time to downtown of 50 to 90 minutes, from the METRO bus stop on the Baggage Claim level, south side of Terminal C. These details were on the airport's page on 5 October 2026; check METRO for current fares and timetables.[3],[4]

The airport says taxi assistance is available 24/7. Taxis pick up outside Baggage Claim/Arrivals: Terminal A south side Door A-115, Terminal C south side Door C-105 and Terminal E west side Door E-103. A $2.75 departure-fee surcharge applies, plus $1.00 more for late-night trips between 8:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.[5]

Ride-app pick-up is signed “Ride App”: Terminal C south side at Door C-103 and Door C-104, and Terminal E west side at Level 2, Zone 5.[5]

The Rental Car Center, at 17330 Palmetto Pines, Houston, TX 77032, is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week and is approximately five minutes from the terminals by shuttle. Shuttles leave every five minutes between 7:00 am and 11:00 pm and every ten minutes between 11:00 pm and 7:00 am.[6]

Parking

IAH has terminal garages and ecopark lots. Prices below are the rates on the airport's parking-rates page on 5 October 2026, which showed no start date, so check them before you travel. ecopark uncovered parking is listed at $10.00 for 16 minutes to 24 hours, and covered parking at $12.00 for the same period, and ecopark 2 covered parking carries the same $12.00 listing.[7]

The A/B and C/D/E garages are each listed with a daily maximum rate of $25.00 including tax. Valet parking in both is $30.00 for 0 to 24 hours.[7],[8]

Since 1 June 2026 ecopark2 on Will Clayton Parkway has been reservation-only: drive-up parking is no longer accepted and a reservation is required for entry. The airport also says that once garage capacity reaches 85%, only pre-booked reservations will be allowed to park.[9],[10]

Valet parking is inside the terminal garages: Terminal A street level, Terminal C level 4 Blue Garage and Terminal E Purple Garage.[8]

Cash is not accepted for parking; there is a cash-to-card machine on Level 2, across from the American Airlines check-in counter. Vehicles can stay in any terminal garage or ecopark area for up to 60 days without notifying parking staff.[11]

ecopark shuttle buses operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week, at approximately 10 minute intervals. Blink EV chargers at the A/B garage (Level 4, across from the Terminal A elevators) and the C/D/E garage (Level 4, across from Valet) are listed as free to use.[11],[12]

Reduced mobility assistance

Houston Airports says wheelchairs are managed by the airlines, so contact your airline immediately for special assistance needs. It advises requesting a wheelchair or electric cart service from your airline in advance or at the ticket counter.[13],[14]
