Every ticket bought through Frontier includes one free personal item; a carry-on bag costs extra unless your bundle or Elite status includes it.

Personal item

One personal item is included with all fares: up to 18in by 14in by 8in including handles, wheels and straps, up to 35 pounds, and it must fit under the seat in front of you. Its size is checked at boarding; larger items are subject to an additional charge.

Cabin bag size

A carry-on bag is an add-on (or included in a bundle): up to 24in by 16in by 10in including handles, wheels and straps.

Cabin bag weight

A carry-on bag may weigh up to 35 pounds.

Bundles status

The Economy, Premium and Business bundles include a carry-on bag; Elite Gold, Platinum and Diamond members also get one. Coats, canes, crutches, portable oxygen concentrators, respiratory and assistive devices are exempt from carry-on charges.

Buy checked bags when you book for the best price, and at least 60 minutes before your flight.

Size and weight limits

Checked bags may weigh up to 40 pounds and must not exceed 62 linear inches (length plus width plus depth, including handles, wheels and straps). Certain bundles or elite statuses may allow higher limits.

Overweight

Bags of 41-50 pounds: $75 per bag, per direction. Bags of 51-99.99 pounds: $100 for bookings made prior to April 4, 2026, $129 for bookings made on or after April 4, 2026. Bags over 100 pounds are not accepted.

Oversized

Bags between 63-110 linear inches: $75 per bag, per direction. Bags over 110 linear inches are not accepted.

Included

Carry-on and checked bags can be bought individually or as part of a bundle. The Business bundle includes 2 checked bags (up to 50 pounds each); Elite Platinum includes 1 and Elite Diamond 2. Bag prices vary by travel dates and when you buy them, and are higher at the airport.

Basic Fare (includes 1 personal item under seat; carry-on bag, checked bag, and seat selection incur separate fees)

Paid advance seat selection for all fare bundles; free random seat allocated at online check-in 24h prior

Changes and cancellations

No change or cancellation fees on Business Bundle / Economy Bundle when changed 60+ days before departure; standard change fees apply within 59 days

Choose a seat by location and legroom, or accept a free seat assignment at check-in. Use your flight seat map because options vary with the aircraft.

Reserved or random

Reserve a specific seat in advance for a fee or as part of a fare bundle, or receive a free randomly assigned seat at online check-in

Children under 14 are seated next to at least one accompanying adult free of charge

These are standards published by the carrier for delays and cancellations. On codeshares or interline itineraries, the operating carrier is responsible.

Care

For disruptions within carrier control delayed 3+ hours, Frontier provides meal vouchers, communication access, and hotel accommodation with ground transport for overnight delays.

Rebooking and refunds

Full refund to original payment method or free rebooking on next available Frontier flight if delayed by 3 hours or more within carrier control.

Compensation

DOT air passenger consumer protection rules apply for involuntary denied boarding or cancellations within carrier control.

Online check-in

Check-in is currently only available in the Frontier mobile app, starting 24 hours before your flight's scheduled departure time for most flights.

Airport check-in closes

You must have your boarding pass and any bags checked in at least 60 minutes before departure, on both domestic and international flights; otherwise the ticket is treated as a No-Show Cancellation, along with all later flights on the itinerary.

Boarding closes

You must board at least 20 minutes prior to scheduled departure time.

Counter check-in

Traditional counter check-in is available at all airports for an additional fee.
