Economy Class: one piece of hand baggage. Business Class: 2 pieces.

Cabin bag weight

Each piece of hand baggage must weigh no more than 7 kg.

Cabin bag size

Each piece must measure no more than a total of 115cm (l+h+w).

Personal item

In addition, in all cabin classes: one lady's hand bag, purse or pocket book, and a duty free item small enough to stow in the overhead bin.

Infant

Passengers travelling with infants: one cabin bag of 56cm x 36cm x 23cm (115cm), up to 5 kgs, for the infant's food, toiletries and nappies.

Your allowance is shown on your e-ticket; SriLankan notes there can be exceptions based on specific periods, routings and fare types.

Weight policy

Routes not to or from North, Central and South America (weight policy): Business Class 40kg, Economy Class 30kg, infants 10kg; bags up to 158cm/ 62 inch (length + height + width), infants 115 cm/ 45 inch.

Piece policy

Routes to or from North, Central and South America (piece policy): Business Class 2 pieces of 32 kg each; Economy Class 2 pieces of 23 kg each; infants 1 piece of 23Kg; each up to 158cm/ 62 inch.

Maximum weight per bag

Regardless of allowance, no single piece may exceed 32kgs.

Oversize

A bag over a total of 158cm (height + length + width) costs USD 50 per oversized bag, subject to aircraft type; sporting equipment is handled separately.

Lowest fare

Economy Light (includes 7 kg carry-on and 25-30 kg checked baggage; seat selection for a fee)

Seat selection

Free seat assignment during online check-in 48 hours before departure; advance seat reservation incurs a fee on lower fare tiers

Changes and cancellations

Changes permitted for a fee plus fare difference; cancellations subject to fare penalty

Choose a seat by location and legroom, or accept a free seat assignment at check-in. Use your flight seat map because options vary with the aircraft.

Children traveling with an accompanying adult are seated together free of charge

SriLankan's conditions of carriage give you a choice of remedies when it cancels or disrupts your flight, except as otherwise provided by the Convention.

Rebooking

If SriLankan cancels a flight, does not operate it reasonably to schedule, fails to stop at your destination or causes you to miss a reserved connection, you can choose to be carried at the earliest opportunity on another of its services with space, without additional charge, or re-routed within a reasonable time on its own services or another carrier's, without additional charge (with the difference refunded if the new routing costs less).

Refund

Alternatively you can take an involuntary refund: the fare paid if no part of the ticket was used; if part was used, not less than the difference between the fare paid and the fare for the travel used; if your class was down-graded, the fare difference for that sector.

Compensation

If you qualify, compensation is provided under applicable law and/or SriLankan's Denied Boarding Compensation Policy, a copy of which is available on request.

Gate close

Flights will not be held if you do not report to the boarding gate at least 30 minutes before the departure time.
