- Cabin bag size
- One carry-on bag up to 22 x 14 x 9 inches, including wheels and handles, plus one smaller personal item.
Alaska Airlines checked baggage allowance
The allowance depends on route, cabin, ticketing date and eligible benefits. Check the policy shown on your booking.
- North america fees
- For tickets issued on or after April 10, 2026, standard North America Main Cabin/Saver fees are USD 45 for the first bag and USD 55 for the second. Hawaii interisland pricing differs.
- Standard bag limit
- Standard bags may weigh up to 50 lb and measure up to 62 linear inches.
- First class allowance
- Passengers confirmed in First Class at check-in receive two bags up to 70 lb each. Later upgrades do not refund bag fees already paid.
What Alaska Airlines’s cheapest fare includes
Saver trades seat choice and flexibility for a lower fare while retaining Main Cabin onboard amenities.
- Seat assignment
- Seats are assigned at check-in; groups are not guaranteed seats together.
- Cabin baggage
- Saver includes the same carry-on allowance as Main. Saver passengers normally board in group F, when overhead space may be limited.
- Cancellation credit
- A Saver ticket cancelled at least 14 days before the first departure is eligible for a 50% credit. Outside the 24-hour cancellation policy, other refunds are restricted.
- Changes
- Eligible same-day confirmed changes are available for a fee; other changes and standby are not allowed.

If your Alaska Airlines flight is delayed or cancelled
Airline-caused disruption is handled separately from the restrictions on voluntarily changing a Saver ticket.
- Rebooking
- For cancellation or significant delay, Alaska offers the next available Alaska or Hawaiian flight without an additional charge.
- Meals
- For a controllable delay of two hours or more, passengers continuing their journey are offered a reasonable meal voucher at the airport.
- Overnight care
- For a controllable overnight disruption at least 100 miles from home, accommodation and hotel transport are provided subject to availability; reasonable reimbursement applies when voucher hotels are unavailable.
- Refund options
- Alaska says it will tell eligible passengers about refund entitlement before offering alternative transport or credits. Weather and other uncontrollable events can exclude the listed amenities.
